About Dr. Praveen Kesav Ramaswamy
Dr. Praveen Kesav Ramaswamy is a specialist in Interventional Radiology, trained at AIIMS New Delhi and certified by the EBIR-ES (Endovascular Specialist) in September 2025, EDIR, and DICR. His work focuses on treating complex medical conditions using minimally invasive, image-guided techniques that avoid major surgery.
He currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Interventional Radiology at Sree Gokulam Medical College, and as Senior Consultant at GG Hospital and Sree Gokulam Superspeciality Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
Dr. Praveen provides advanced care for patients with uterine fibroids, varicose veins, vascular diseases, joint pain, kidney conditions, tumors, and emergency needs. Every treatment is guided by precision, backed by evidence, and personalised to the patient’s condition.
Career and Experience
Dr. Praveen began his medical journey at Madras Medical College and completed his MD in Radiodiagnosis at AIIMS, New Delhi. Over the years, he has trained at renowned institutions including the AIIMS Trauma Centre, IRCH, and the NCI Jhajjar campus.
Introduced 24x7 IR services in hospital settings
Set up the first interventional radiology outpatient clinic in his institution
For MD residents, began fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Gokulam Healthcare Institution.
Organised the first state-level IR conference in Kerala
Contributed to the national ISVIR Annual Conference 2025
